Ladakh Spiritual Retreat

An 8-day journey through the living heart of Ladakhi Buddhism. Visit the great monasteries of the Sham valley (Lamayuru, Alchi and Likir) and the Indus valley (Shey, Thiksey and Hemis), sit with a Ladakhi oracle, then cross the Khardung La to the gompas of Nubra before ending at the high lakes of Pangong and Tso Moriri. The pace is slow, with time to join morning prayers and simply be still.

Rumtse to Tso Moriri Trek

One of Ladakh's most beautiful treks: 98 km over 7 days across the Changthang plateau of Rupshu, following the old salt road past Tso Kar to the turquoise shores of Tso Moriri. The route crosses numerous passes above 5,000m, topping out at the 5,435m Yalung Nyau La, and passes the camps of Changpa nomads with their pashmina goats and yaks. Exceptional, but demanding.

Kang Yatse II (6,200m)

The lower western summit of the Kang Yatse massif, approached via the Markha Valley trek from Chilling or Spituk. It needs no special mountaineering skills, making it ideal as a first Himalayan 6,000m summit. Scree slopes lead to a steep snow climb, with summit views stretching to K2 and the Zanskar range.

Leh to Umling La & Tso Moriri

A 10-day ride that starts and ends in Leh and takes in the best of eastern Ladakh on a Royal Enfield Himalayan. Cross the Khardung La to Nubra and the Balti village of Turtuk, ride the Shyok road to Pangong Tso, then head through Changthang to Hanle and the Umling La (5,799m), the highest motorable road in the world. From the high lake of Tso Moriri, follow the Indus back to Leh past the hot springs of Chumathang.

What our guests say

  • Guide explained the monasteries beautifully. The hotel in Leh was below expectations and the hot water was unreliable.

Before you travel

Still have questions? Talk to our team.

When is the best time to visit Ladakh?

June to September is the main season, when high passes are open and trekking routes are snow-free. May and October are quieter and colder, which suits cultural trips and lower treks.

How long should I acclimatise in Leh?

Plan at least two full days in Leh (3,500 m) before any trek, ride or climb. We'll help you build these days into your plan, and mountaineering trips add further acclimatisation hikes.

Do I need permits?

Some areas such as Nubra, Pangong, Tso Moriri and Hanle require permits or protected-area fees depending on your nationality. We arrange whatever your route needs.

Can you customise a trip?

Yes. Every journey can be adjusted for dates, fitness, group size and interests. Tell us what you have in mind and we'll send a tailored itinerary.
